John Deere Waterloo Works Factory Skilled: Machine Hand/Tool Room Machinist in Waterloo Works, Iowa

WATERLOO WORKS FACTORY SKILLED: TOOL ROOM MACHINIST (Job Shop)

Tool Room Machinist employees set up and operate in a team environment machines such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, horizontal boring machine in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment. They must produce a wide variety of non-repetitive parts, holding close tolerances in an efficient manner while following strict safety practices and OSHA regulations. In addition they are expected to:

  • Perform tasks necessary to support operations in a team environment

  • Work with minimal supervision

  • Supply their own tools

  • Work shifts (choice of shift based on seniority)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Acceptable Journeyman’s card in Tool Room Machining and/or equivalent education/experience

OR

  • AAS Degree in Tool and Die

OR

  • Minimum 2 years related tool room machining experience

  • Experience creating high precision components utilizing a variety of tool room machines (Lathes, Mills, Grinders, Jig Bore and Boring Mills) both manual and CNC controlled

  • Ability to read blueprints, hold close tolerances, deal with multiple activities, requests and emergencies

  • Mechanical knowledge
