The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .
As a Part-Time Student for JD Waterloo Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, Iowa , you will:
Work with experienced product engineers to create part models and drawings for experimental and production builds
Assist with documentation of technical roadmaps and design guidelines
Process engineering changes with the support of experienced engineers
Analyze engineering technical data and create visualizations that support the business needs of factory quality engineering, product engineering, and supply management
This position is not available to students on immigration visas.
What Skills You Need
Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in an Engineering discipline; others may apply
Must be registered as a full-time student at aU.S. accredited university
Graduation date of Spring 2025 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
Available to work 15-20 hours/weekly during the academic year
Available to work 35-40 hours/weekly during the summer semester
Must be able to commute to the work location in Waterloo, Iowa, on a weekly basis year-round (NOTE: Relocation assistance is not provided.)
Basic understanding of drafting principles used in the creation of engineering drawings
Desire to learn and apply fundamentals of part design
Ability to learn data visualization tools (examples: Power BI, Tableau)
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent
Ability to work in a team environment
What Makes You Stand Out
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Advanced Creo/CAD experience
Experience with large off-road equipment
Experience developing and/or maintaining reports in PowerBI
