The Equipment Supply Technician for Home Medical Equipment receives, cleans, sanitizes, tests, and stores all equipment, supplies or other materials with a detailed audit trail of all transactions. The Equipment Supply Tech may also help with the delivery of equipment and supplies to other healthcare facilities and patient homes.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Equipment and Supply Management

· Responsible for receiving equipment and supplies into the proper storage areas

· Accurately document all transactions of the receiving’s

· Assists with maintaining a clean, safe and efficient warehouse/supply/cleaning area

Equipment Maintenance

· Maintains a detailed audit trail of all transactions involving equipment, supplies or other materials that have been cleaned, tested or disposed of

· Operates and maintains the various testing and cleaning equipment needed for compliance, accreditation and regulatory guild lines

Equipment and Supply Delivery/Pick-up

· Assists with the delivery and or pick-up of supplies, equipment or other materials in accordance with compliance, accreditation and regulatory guidelines

· Communicate effectively with other healthcare facilities, patients or customers in delivery of quality and safe equipment and supplies

Basic UPH Performance Criteria

· Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

· Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.

· Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.

· Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.

· Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.

· Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Requirements

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Vocational School graduate or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

Prefer 1 year in a healthcare related field

License(s)/Certification(s):

Valid driver’s license

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

· Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English

· Basic computer knowledge, excel and word processing, email and web browser

Other:

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
