What We Are Seeking
The Department of Public Defense, is hiring a Facility Maintenance Coordinatorto work at the 185th Air Refueling Wing in Sioux City, IA to assist the Plant Operations Manager, Facility Manager and Base Civil Engineer in the day-to-day operations of facility maintenance program. This position acts as Lead over employees predetermined by the Plant Operations Manager, Facility Manager and Base Civil Engineer.

Location and hours:
185th ARW, Iowa Air National Guard, 2920 Headquarters Ave, Sioux City, IA 5111. Working hours will be Monday through Friday; 8 hours a dayORa 4–10-hour day schedule within the working days of Monday through Friday.
What You’ll Do:
Assist Supervisor by coordinating ongoing and new work orders. Distribute all preventative maintenance orders to the proper tradesman. Ensure completion dates and paperwork is filed timely.
Participate in snow removal program and be the first point of contact for snow events. Operate, maintain and repair snow removal equipment as needed.
Performs construction and preventative maintenance on facilities and grounds including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, liquid fuels, janitorial, masonry, and landscape maintenance.
Perform building inspections, maintain records for facilities and installed equipment. Initiate work orders as needed. Ensure equipment operates within design standards. Understand and follow accepted industry practices to include shutdown and reactive system for maintenance repairs.
Perform monthly mechanical fire suppression checks, exercising fire pumps and record system pressures, maintain accurate records.
Perform back-flow inspections and repairs.
Ensures accountability for all equipment properly and accurately, making sure equipment is operating correctly, safely and kept clean.
Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on all assigned equipment such as inspections, greasing and repair or replace worn parts.
Performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, inspecting maintenance and construction projects and serving as a lead worker as assigned or in absence of the supervisor.
Note - This position must be able to clear and maintain a security clearance. This position must have and maintain a Class B CDL with airbrakes.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
Three years of full-time work experience in the building and trades industry.
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Maintenance Repairer.
