Description:
The Chief Grain Inspector is responsible for overseeing grain inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. This role involves inspecting and grading various grains, primarily focusing on wheat sub-classes. You will communicate with the plant superintendent, maintain accurate records, and follow standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and tests on grains, focusing on three wheat sub-classes.
- Record inspection results accurately and complete data entry tasks.
- Inspect and grade incoming and outgoing grains via railcar and truck, as well as client-submitted samples.
- Identify and report non-conforming products or materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with the plant superintendent and assist as needed.
- Apply knowledge of cleaning moisture and protein machines.
Requirements:
- Experience in grading wheat and other grains.
- Knowledge of USDA handbooks and grain quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills.
- Proficiency in data entry and communication.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, with flexibility for changing priorities and Schedules.
