Operates wire winder
Organizational Scope
Reports to:
Shift Manager
Essential Functions
Know how to set up and rethread wire winders
Know color coding for identification
Identify raw materials
Familiarization with raw material numbers
Understand and ability to adjust settings on counters for efficient bobbin footage
Know correct wire construction for hoses being braided
Ability to set traverse
Understand and ability to operate wire stripper
Understand and ability to operate all wire winders
Identify and eliminate known defects
Document good and non-conforming product
Correctly fill out required paperwork daily
Train new employees as needed
Detect and report problem areas or unusual conditions to supervisor
Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean and orderly condition at all times
Use personal safeguards for hands, feet and eyes as prescribed
Perform related and other duties assigned by supervisor
Working Conditions
The employee may be subject to:
High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
Breathing fumes, dust and mist
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
Minimum Requirements
Education preferred: High school diploma or GED
Experience:
Production work preferred but not required
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
Sound decision making skills
Good math, reading, writing skills
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Strong troubleshooting skills
Job Qualification Requirements
On the job training from one to eight weeks or extend to ten weeks if needed
Physical Requirements:
Stand, walk, push, pull, reach, bend, turn, squat and lift
Visual acuity:
Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks
Hearing acuity:
Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action
Other skills:
Ability to work well in a team environment
Assessment:
Employee must pass pre-employment screening
