SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for the set up and operation of extrusion and other associated equipment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/ SCOPE:
*
Report directly to Value Stream Team Leader
Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Makes complete line set ups on jobs from charts and process specifications.
2.
Operates line, maintaining proper speeds, adjustments, etc. to ensure a quality product while hitting a standard production rate.
3.
Performs frequent inspections of product, both visually and using O.D. Tape and calipers.
4.
Prepares and completes necessary paperwork.
DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.
Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.
Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
2.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
3.
Maintain production schedules.
4.
Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
5.
Other duties may be assigned later.
