Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Utilize CMMS to support the maintenance function, including the review, execution, and documentation of scheduled and unscheduled work on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the installation and repair of mechanical equipment, fluent in mechanical troubleshooting, and maintenance of all machinery and process malfunctions.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair mechanical equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical power transmission equipment, including gear boxes, mechanical drives, variable speed applications, and Servo motors.

  • Maintain, repair, and overhaul refrigeration, steam, and pneumatic systems, including cylinders, valves, manifolds, vacuum systems, air filtration, and lubrication devices.

  • Repair and overhaul pumps, automatic control valves, sensors, positioners, actuators, and perform basic electrical AC/DC troubleshooting.

  • Utilize knowledge of bearings, pulleys, chain drives, belt drives, and lubricant standards and applications.

  • Use precision tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.

  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and piping diagrams. Ability to read/interpret electrical schematics is a plus.

  • Perform pipe fitting, rigging, and use mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools.

  • Fabricate within specific tolerances using machine shop skills.

  • Work with 480v 3 phase systems and understand NFPA 70E practices.

  • Utilize personal/process control computers, programmable logic controllers (PLC), and networking devices.

  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure product quality.

  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety.

  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for food safety and food quality of MFI products.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in industrial operations, plant operations, maintenance, utilities, or a related field.

  • Experience in the installation and repair of mechanical equipment.

  • Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of mechanical power transmission equipment, gear boxes, mechanical drives, variable speed applications, and Servo motors.

  • Ability to repair refrigeration, steam, and pneumatic systems.

  • Knowledge of bearings, pulleys, chain drives, belt drives, and lubricant standards.

  • Experience with precision tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and piping diagrams.

  • Skilled in pipe fitting, rigging, and the use of mechanical tools, hand tools, and power tools.

  • Knowledge of 480v 3 phase systems and NFPA 70E practices.

Work Environment

This is a brand new plant with a very nice facility. The company produces egg products and French toast. The most urgent needs are on the 2nd and 3rd shifts, with some consideration for 1st shift candidates. Shift times are as follows: 1st shift - 6:30 am to 3 pm, 2nd shift - 3 pm to 11 pm, and 3rd shift - 11 pm to 6:30 am. Employees are required to wear PPE, including hair nets, eyewear, and beard nets if necessary. Handwashing is mandatory when moving between different areas.
