General Summary Statement To build new molds, dies, fixtures and prototypes as requested by TriMark engineering. To oversee or perform the repair, modification and maintenance of molds, dies, fixtures and to facilitate quality production and minimize machine downtime.Responsible for facilitating the fabrication of new project prototypes and tooling.Responsible for facilitating maintenance on production tooling. Accountabilities/Responsibilities 1.Review tool drawings and confer with manufacturing engineering and/or Engineering about final design of each new tool and prototype to be constructed. 2.Studies specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, prototype parts, CAD models or verbal descriptions, then visualizes product to determine material requirements and machines to be used to fabricate tooling. 3.Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate short run, compound and progressive metal working dies, prototype parts, die cast injection molds, plastic injection molds, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges and machinists hand tools. 4.Applies knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, machining and assembly procedures.
