Starting Pay rate $17.00 an hour plus $1.50 night shift differential $500 bonus after 90 days of employment

Summary Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our second shift team ( 5PM - 1:30AM ) at our 305 N Iris Road location. You will be trained and expected to handle other manufacturing related duties as assigned. Position includes a comprehensive benefits package to include paid time off on day one, and mentorship support to ensure successful team member growth and development. Overtime is anticipated with this full-time, direct hire opportunity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend documents including but not limited to policy manuals, safety rules/programs, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and simple correspondence.

  • In addition, the ability to communicate information effectively one-on-one and in small group situations and settings is required.

  • Ability to perform general mathematic calculations including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, percentages, and division. Some positions may require advance mathematics.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform work instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form a must. In addition, the ability to solve problems, which involve multiple variables in a standard situation, is required.

  • Required to use power hand tools

  • Required to drive a forklift, will train

  • Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work with a diversified work force

  • Ability to read different measuring devices (i.e., tape measure, protractor, micrometer).

  • Be willing to cross train and be promotable

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knows and understands all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and about a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts.

  • Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.

  • Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts.

  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and/or other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts.

  • Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.

  • May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader.

  • The employee may be required to enter areas that are near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, and extreme cold or heat.

  • The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate and may require the use of hearing protection.

  • The employee will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing certain manufacturing areas, (hard hat, gloves, welding jacket or weld bibs, safety glasses, welding hood and earplugs.)
