Advatix, Inc. Offset Press Operator - 2nd Shift in Mount Pleasant, Iowa

Offset Press Operator 

Role Summary 

Our client is searching for an Offset Press Operator to join the team. As a Press Operator, you will be tasked with setting up and ensuring high-quality output on the offset press.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Change press plates, blankets, and cylinders as needed 

  • Notifies Team Lead of quality issues 

  • Runs machine at optimal speed to meet production standards 

  • Performs adjustments on the machine to ensure maximum productivity 

  • Communicates job status and production concerns/issues during shift transition to ensure optimal productivity for the following shift 

  • Cleans ink fountains, plates, and changes units as needed 

  • Performs regular quality checks on all components to ensure quality standards are met 

  • Recalibrates equipment as required 

  • Works with the Team Lead to resolve concerns. 

  • Ensures safety practices are followed 

  • Accurately tracks job counts, make-readies, and waste as instructed 

  • Ability to spot defects in the print and correct essential functions of the job 

  • Sets up the machine and maintains quality throughout the run per individual job 

  • Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor 

Skills and Requirements 

  • High school diploma or GED is required for this role 

  • Prior offset printing background as pressman preferred 

  • Ability to monitor production equipment for speed and quality 

  • Capable of reading and interpreting job instructions 

  • Comfortable working in a team environment 

  • Knowledge of mechanical operations and production processes 

  • Able to work with both computers and mechanical systems 

  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including moving up to 10 pounds regularly and lifting up to 45 pounds intermittently
