Summary

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct maintenance technicians, prioritize and assign daily work orders.

  • Maintain the mechanical integrity of equipment, machinery, vehicles or facility, develop and implement programs and practices to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance cost.

  • Maximize performance by utilizing a proactive preventative maintenance program.

  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activity and / or project activity with Operations and/or Engineering.

  • Determine the most cost effective approach for reliability and longevity of equipment and systems while achieving all CHS safety and compliance expectations.

  • Determine the root cause of premature equipment/machinery failure.

  • Communicate and assist the Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator with areas the maintenance department is responsible for or affected by.

  • Ensure all work practices and equipment performs to CHS safety standards.

  • Facilitate proper training for maintenance personnel.

  • Maintain critical parts inventory.

  • Plan and coordinate plant shutdowns.

  • Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of experience in Production, Operations, and/or Maintenance

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience in maintenance and repair in a production setting

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work extended hours to meet business demands

  • Previous team leadership or supervisory experience preferred
