Emerson Global Quality Systems Manager in Marshalltown, Iowa

Position Summary:

The Global Quality Systems Manager is a ground-breaking leader responsible for driving systems related improvements that will benefit the global quality organization. These systems include implementing and sustaining a harmonized Flow Controls Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001 and the Pressure Equipment Directive as well as maintaining contracts with the required Registrars and Notified Bodies. This person also leads the digital transformation efforts within the global quality organization.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Implement a Flow Controls Quality Management System Program and Manual.

  • Acquire and maintain a Flow Controls ISO9001 Certificate through integration of existing Fisher Plant, Service, and V&C Quality programs.

  • Coordinate the collaboration between engineering of multiple brands within Flow Controls for the single quality program. Build brand specific engineering practices as necessary.

  • Maintain regionally required quality certifications such as Pressure Equipment Directive and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulation. Expand global quality certifications for multiple brands within Flow Controls.

  • Coordinate biennial Operation Excellence Audits and annual Corporate Internal Audits.

  • Educate and train employees as to their impact in the quality management system.

  • Main point of contact for Registrar and Notified Bodies for quality certifications. Prepare the organization for audits and be the lead host.

  • Maintain the Quality Management System Manual and revise as necessary.

  • Provide leadership over digital transformation efforts.

Education / Experience Required:

  • Undergraduate degree in engineering or related field, or 6 years of quality leadership related experience will be considered in lieu of degree

  • Validated experience as a practicing quality professional.

  • Technical expertise in the requirements of ISO9001, PED, NQA, RCC-M ISO19443, other applicable codes and standards

Preferred Requirements:

  • Established as an authority for the quality function and currently holding a position on the divisional technical ladder in the range of Senior Quality Engineer, Site Quality Manager, or Engineering Manager.

  • Knowledge of other business unit processes, systems, standards and practices relevant to the requirements of the Quality Management System.

  • Experience implementing processes that drive compliance with technical programs across multiple world areas

Supervisory Requirements:

  • This position reports solid line into the Global Quality Director.

Work Environment / Conditions:

  • Office environment and manufacturing areas, may include other Flow Controls locations, including plant and service, and customer locations; occasional domestic and international travel.

Physical Demands:

  • Moderate physical ability to move and handle various product parts and assemblies.

Travels:

  • Travel will be necessary and will include both domestic and international.
