Emerson Factory Automation Site Lead in Marshalltown, Iowa

This position will support the implementation of Factory Automation and Digitization projects in our North America Factories (including internally created projects and Emerson advised programs like MES, QMS, BPM, etc.) This role will research and recommend tools targeted at increasing efficiency, consistency, and leverage in the organization. These programs will be integrated to form a customer focused strategy to increase orders, improve customer focus, reduce lead times, increase delivery performance, and optimize internal processes.
As a Factory Automation Site Lead, you will:
Develop and implement Factory Automation Projects for North America (NA) world area of the Flow Controls Business Unit.
Work with cross functional teams to identify and implement projects at NA sites.
Facilitate projects and develop expertise across the World Area.
Get results across the world area by using standard methodologies gathered through interaction with the larger Emerson organization.
Own project deployment end to end at sites.
Promote Automation and Digitization
Facilitate project teams to achieve improvements in the areas of Customer Focus, Sales Growth, Supply Chain optimization, I/T business facilitation, Finance, HR, Operations, Order management, Quality etc.
Identify, document and leverage automation and digitization Best Practices from other organizations.
Collaborate across all sites and benchmark technologies and projects across Final Control
Champion ideas and projects from local sites
Find opportunities for cost reduction, productivity, reliability, product quality, and safety improvement in manufacturing automation equipment.
Continuous Improvement
Continuously Improve the Automation and Digitization Process - Tools, Techniques, Analysis, Exhibits
Provide recommendations for improving lead time and service levels through speed and flexibility.
Map information and material flow through a variety of business processes
Work with Perfect Execution teams to ensure processes are ready for automation or digitization.
Create opportunities to deliver the automation and digitization message to key customers and suppliers and collaborate on improvement opportunities.
Training
Train others in the organization on tools and process changes and generate excitement among the larger employee population.
Participate in Leadership Training to drive cultural change across the company leaders.
Educate the organization on Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Research the latest trends / technologies available and determine readiness for use cases.
Project Management
Identify and implement an optimization plan to improve automation machine OEE through structured problem-solving methodology.
Develop business cases for projects as required.
Write formal request for asset request (AR) as required.
Follows safety protocol and procedures, supports workplace safety and health, continuous improvement.
You are:

Required education, experience & skills:
Bachelor’s degree in technical field required. MBA preferred.
Some combination of a minimum of 5 years’ experience in key functional roles such as Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
Sound knowledge of mechatronics control, factory automation using PLC, electro-pneumatics devices and sensors, and manufacturing processes.
Able to be hand-on in machine diagnosis & maintenance, engineering evaluation, and experiments.
Preferred education, experience & skills:
Productive, self-motivated learner, able to communicate effectively and collaborate with others.
Experience in PLC programming and various PLC hardware is an advantage.
Ability to influence across all levels in an organization.
Demonstrated change management skills preferred.
Experience leading a significant change effort desired.
Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
