In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. Summary:
This role supports the overall strategic direction associated within the assigned commodities. In this newly created role, you will be responsible for proactively assisting in the development of sourcing strategies that are aligned with business and program needs and then driving execution of those strategies while ensuring quality, delivery, and cost targets are exceeding expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Supports the Development and Execution Sourcing Strategies:
· Assist in the development and implementation of commodity strategies for various production materials such as connectors, cables, and machined parts
· Analyzes key Sourcing KPI's, spend data, and vendor performance scores.
· Documents and prepares internal sourcing requirements for commodities and programs.
· Provides the evaluation of vendor quotations utilizing appropriate negotiation and sourcing analysis techniques and implementation of proper contracts with emphasis on quality, delivery, total cost, and service necessary to meet requirements
Leads the development of part number grouping and sub-commodity strategy analysis
· Manages, nurtures and supports supplier relationships; designs and implements supplier improvement initiatives and resolves critical supplier issues.
· Develops RFI's/RFP's and Actively Negotiates and Maintains Contracts:
· Leads or supports negotiations and management of long term agreements to leverage buying position, for effect cost management in accordance with the KCNSC prime contract executive orders, public law, NNSA approved procedures, FAR/DEAR, and appropriate supply chain management principles. Tracks, monitors, and documents and contractual changes.
You Must Have:
US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy security clearance
Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
Five or more year's progressive experience in a manufacturing environment with consistent achievement of high quality results on assigned responsibilities or equivalent related experience.

Supports use of strategic sourcing tools such as Spend Analysis and Supplier Performance Management (SPM).Evaluate data and assist management team in identifying and managing key suppliers. Works with Sourcing Leaders to identify, qualify, and maintain optimum supply base capability and capacity.
Develops and conducts RFQ's, RFP's using both traditional and web-based platforms
Actively identifies new sources of supply.
- Transitional leader from Sourcing to Procurement:
Responsible for the hand-off of contracts, vendors, and commodities from Sourcing to Procurement
Ensures buyers and procurement managers are up to speed on new contractual sourcing terms by vendor, by part number
Responsible for buyer training and support as necessary
Knowledge/Skill
Demonstrated capacity to run advanced negotiations and RFP's
Knowledge or experience in sourcing fundamentals
Highly proficient technical skills in MS Office Suite and knowledge of E-Procurement Applications desired
Knowledge of government contracting requirements including a working understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
Advanced degree, ISM, CPSM certification, or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Superior computer skills specifically in Excel, Powerpoint, Microstrategy, Power BI, etc.
