Staff Management | SMX Field Safety Coordinator in Iowa City, Iowa

Salary Range: The salary for this position is anticipated to range between $20 - $25 per hour. This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the qualifications necessary for the position, including but not limited to experience, training, and other considerations permitted by law. Factors that may be used when making an offer may include a candidate’s skills and experience, the expected quality and quantity of work, and internal pay alignment, as needed. Most candidates will start in the bottom half of the pay range. The upper end of the range will generally be reserved for candidates with extensive skills and experience. An employee’s pay history will not be a contributing factor where prohibited by local law. In addition to monetary compensation, we offer a competitive benefits package. Essential Job Functions

  • Conduct safety observations (CBIs)

  • Coach and assist onsite associates in completing tasks safely and with appropriate PPE

  • Communicate and execute safety incentive programs

  • Communicate complaints/incidents/accident reports to both Staff Management and client leadership

  • 80-90% of the workday is spent assisting leadership teams in every area of safety

  • Identify unsafe conditions on the floor


  • High School diploma required

  • 2+ years Knowledgeable in safety expectations, policies, and procedures

  • Some supervisory and/or lead experience in a production environment is preferred, with the ability to coach and motivate others

  • Physical ability to be on feet and walk 10-12 hours per day 5-6 days per week

  • Knowledge of MS Office software: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
