Job Title: Electrician
Job Description
The electrician will install, maintain, repair, and test equipment for base building operations. The role includes troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment, as well as fire and security alarm systems. The ideal candidate will be able to plan and layout work projects using wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions, and select the correct materials to complete work assignments. Proficiency in establishing test procedures and maintaining electrician’s tools and equipment in good working order is essential.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, repair, and test equipment for base building operations.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and equipment.
Plan and layout work projects using wiring diagrams, schematics, sketches, blueprints, or verbal instructions.
Select the correct materials to complete work assignments.
Establish test procedures relative to lead requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
Maintain electrician’s tools and equipment in good working order.
Troubleshoot and repair fire and security alarm systems.
Essential Skills
Proficient in electrical wiring and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Working knowledge and proficiency with installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical components and equipment.
Knowledge of lighting, electrical protective devices, motors, inverters, soft starts, wye-delta systems, and both hardwired and ethernet-based control systems.
Familiarity with schematics, mathematics, preventive/predictive technologies, basic computer literacy, and safe electrical test and measurement best practices.
Awareness and ability to perform calibration and documentation of functions related to flow measurement, level measurement, pressure, temperature, and analytical instrumentation.
Ability to troubleshoot process control loops using key elements and specialized testing equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with calibration and documentation of industrial instrumentation.
Basic computer literacy.
Knowledge of safe electrical test and measurement best practices.
Ability to work with industrial control systems.
Work Environment
The work schedule is either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with an on-call schedule once every two months. Employees are paid for 4 hours if called in, regardless of time worked. This role includes uniforms and personal protective equipment supplied by the company.
