Responsibilities - What You Will Do:

How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Daily greenhouse plant care, including seeding, pollinating, transplanting, watering, harvesting and seed handling.

  • Punch or cut and store small samples of plant tissue and delivery for laboratory analysis. Carefully maintain sample identity for thousands of samples at a time while maintaining proper storage conditions.

  • Assist with experiments, collect data and maintain records.

  • Perform routine greenhouse sanitation tasks like discarding regulated material, destroying waste, cleaning pots/containers, and cleaning and sanitizing rooms.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements - Who You Are:

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • You have a high school diploma/GED.

  • You always pay close attention to detail and understand that it is essential to follow standard operating and safety/ergonomics protocols.

  • You have excellent communication skills, a high degree of self-motivation, possess a positive attitude and work well independently as well as in a team with minimal supervision.

  • You have basic computer skills including MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to gain competency with internally-developed research software.

  • You are willing and able to stand/sit for long periods of time, lift up to 30 lbs., tolerate hours of repetitive work in a warm, humid greenhouse with pollen present year-round.

  • You are willing and able to work a primarily Monday through Friday day schedule and a rotating weekend schedule as needed to support business needs.

Preferences - It Would Be Great If You Have:

  • Previous experience with greenhouse operations and plant care.

  • Interest in agronomic research.

  • 1 year of related education and/or experience in a greenhouse plant care, agronomy, horticulture, gardening, biology research or other relevant discipline.
