The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the development, maintenance, and improvement of the Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Quality Management System compliance. Responsible for keeping current on all industry trends and regulations.

  • Independently lead internal audit(s), report findings, and corrective action(s), as necessary. Review and summarize for leadership as needed.

  • Independently lead external audit(s). Provide report(s) to leadership. Coordinate with other departments (IPRA, Sales, etc.)

  • Coach team to develop skills and leadership experience.

  • Manage Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) process. Review, approve, and provide dispositions and report to leadership, as applicable.

  • Must follow, create and approve all procedures and SOPs/forms.

  • Must maintain proper quality documentation.

  • Provide final review and approve customer questionnaires, as applicable.

  • Review and approve Change Management requests.

  • Review and approve raw material, finished goods, and packaging release, as applicable.

  • Running reports, inputting and reviewing specifications as defined, as applicable.

  • Perform lot tracing, as applicable.

  • Manage the disposition of nonconforming material and approving re-work.

  • Verify documentation and follow up as applicable.

  • Evaluate and qualify potential new suppliers, in coordination with R&D and/or Purchasing.

  • Communicate with customers.

  • Participate in PIP meetings and recommend changes as applicable.

  • Responsible for training and ensuring it is adequate and effective.

  • Responsible for reporting and deliver internal and/or external presentations.

  • Provide input for budget planning, as applicable. Execute strategic plan, as applicable.

  • Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)

  • Follows and maintains an environment of food and/or feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Science related field with 5+ years of related experience OR

  • Master’s Degree in a Science related field with 3+ years of related experience

  • 3+ years of Management experience preferred.

  • Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, inspection or other related experience preferred.

  • Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.

  • Must have a solid understanding and adherence to the Servant Leadership philosophy.

  • Must be a self-starter.

  • Must be able to use computer systems, MS Office, M3, LIMs, etc.

  • Must have attention to detail.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Familiarity with SPC principles and practices.

  • Must have project management skills.

  • Travel up to 10%.
