In this role you will advance strategies within the Pfizer Global Supply (PGS), Small Molecule Operations (SMO) manufacturing organization to protect colleagues, the environment, our operations and assure compliance. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops strategies and programs designed to nurture EHS & BCM excellence, minimize risk and sustain a proactive culture across the PGS SMO organization.

  • Leads, develops and maintains key processes within SMO to proactively identify EHS & BCM risk signals including the Site Operating Risk model, provision of inputs to the Enterprise Operational Risk Evaluation/Review processes and regular input to ensure currency of the issues management tracker

  • Leads investigations that facilitate identification of root causation for significant EHS / BCM events.

  • Establishes and drives action plans in response to trends and risk signals, escalating as necessary to facilitate alignment and accelerate action

  • Builds and maintains productive relationships with sites, SMO leaders and enabling functions to ensure EHS / BCM is appropriately prioritized and integrated into every aspect of operations.

  • Facilitates cross site and functional collaboration to drive innovation, adoption of learnings and replication of good practices that enable continuous EHS & BCM performance improvement.

  • Evaluates site EHS / BCM resources, and capabilities; and establishes plans in consultation with Operating Unit leadership to address needs.

  • Member of the Global EHS Leadership team, with joint accountability for driving EHS program strategies and priorities.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Risk Management or a related field.

  • EHS / BCM practitioner with broad technical and regulatory experience including leading complex risk assessment, investigations and risk management program implementation.

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a relevant industry e.g., pharmaceutical biotech, chemical, with a sustained track record in improving compliance performance, developing strategy and driving delivery.

  • Experience working across disciplines and senior management in a complex / global organization

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with ability to effectively engage with internal & external stakeholders including regulatory authorities.

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Environment, Health & Safety Business Continuity Management or Engineering field preferred.

  • Certified Safety/Environmental/Occ Hygiene/ Business Continuity Management professional

  • Active current membership in at least one relevant professional body, with a formal continuous professional development requirement.

  • People management experience

  • Track record of leading cross functional and virtual teams in complex environments.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Due to the nature of work assignments, the role holder must be able to perform detailed work with limited oversight on multiple, concurrent tasks, with frequent interruptions and under time constraints while advancing long term priorities.

  • Overall physical fitness to enable travel to locations where Pfizer conducts business, including internal sites, external suppliers, peer company facilities and to conduct area walkthroughs, audits and inspections. This will require the ability to carry necessary work materials e.g., laptop etc, to stoop; to reach; to sit / stand / walk for extended periods of time; ability to climb stairs; and to use personal protective equipment including respiratory protection and hearing protection

  • Daily interactions with colleagues through face to face or virtual meetings enabled using technology such as webex and video conference requiring ability to effectively exchange ideas and information with colleagues using these systems.

  • Ability to understand, evaluate, interpret and explain multiple complex inputs and provide clear direction.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Ability to work outside standard working hours (early mornings / evenings) to manage a geographically diverse team; and maintain communications / networks across a global network.
