Corteva Agriscience North America Corn Quality and Allocations Manager in Des Moines, Iowa

Description

The North America Corn Quality and Allocations Manager is accountable for the supply characterization and usage decisions for the corn product line, ensures inventory accuracy, and allocation of supply for North America Commercial Units. Key timelines must be met to ensure accurate supply visibility throughout the sales season to drive sales effectiveness while meeting customer expectations. Working across multiple supply chain functional areas and commercial stakeholders is critical to being a reliable supplier and managing inventories throughout the sales season to optimize inventories while reducing financial risk.

What You'll Do:

  • Balance production variability and sales objectives with risk management strategy to minimize significant supply changes

  • Responsible for process and systems to reliably communicate supply and volume changes proactively.

  • Develop and implement allocation strategy to meet business strategy and financial goals (short term and long term)

  • Provide platform for Area to Area supply swaps and make recommendations to provide greatest utilization of supply for Corteva.

  • Monitor projections to optimize constrained products

  • Determine product usage based on quality results

  • Coordinate with Product Life Cycle Managers and Product Line Managers on marginal scores and drive timely discard decisions

  • Oversee quality nonconformance process with production locations and determine usage decisions on impacted inventory.

  • Evaluate customer service calls against quality results and drive necessary changes within characterization process or quality standards

  • Support product/segment launches and enable through inventory management processes. Manage carryover strategy with new product launches (trait, package, treatments)

  • Challenge/Balance portfolio decisions to drive simplicity and balance production efforts with economic gains

  • Assist demand planning and package / treatment GAP analysis Bring appropriate SKU implications to product line managers. Identify critical volumes needed for production and maintenance

  • Provides input to financial reserve forecast on quality loss assumptions and write-down risk to the business.

  • Provide analytics to reduce crop quality loss and partners with Production Research and Field Teams.

  • Manage supply chain staff by developing and monitoring annual performance plans; providing on-going feedback, coaching and collaboration on issues resolution; conducting performance reviews and salary recommendations; guiding and monitoring professional development efforts; and communicating Company business objectives and values to ensure business goals are achieved via high productivity efforts.

  • Ensure staff interacts appropriately with personnel in other business functions.

  • Lead best practices across crops where appropriate and leverage common reporting techniques

  • Be able to respond and adapt to changing business environment. Manage change appropriately.

Qualifications

What Skills You Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Seed Physiology, Agronomy, Ag Business, Business Management, or equivalent field

  • 5-8 years production, supply chain, product management or quality characterization experience

  • Experience working with and communicating to executive teams

  • Strong communications skills, written, visual, and verbal

  • Proven skills in communicating both upward and downward in the organization

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate multiple tasks with oscillating workloads

  • Strong ability to lead and manage teams, resolve conflicts, and influence

  • Strong analytical skills and business understanding

  • Ability to utilize resources effectively throughout the organization

  • Ability to create and develop new ideas
