Pay Range
$22.55 - $29.73 per hour plus $1500 sign-on bonus
Reports to
Plant Superintendent and/or Plant Manager
Job Purpose
Safely and efficiently perform maintenance tasks to minimize unscheduled downtime.
Administer preventative maintenance scheduling while all safety policies are followed.
Training/Registration/License/Certification requirement
PIT Train the Trainer Certification
Forklift Certified
Electrical Training
Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot/service and/or repair balers, conveyors, shredders, lift trucks, loaders, and other equipment
Troubleshoot/service and/or repair DOT trucks and trailers
Plan, communicate and perform all repairs and maintenance
Administer preventive maintenance scheduling systems
Perform root cause analysis for any abnormal conditions/failures, take required corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence of such conditions (include operators in analysis as needed)
Assists PGM/PSI in new equipment purchasing
Perform welding and fabrication
Perform brick laying, laying concrete and framing
Perform minor electrical tasks
Repair and maintain all dock levelers, scales, railings, tile, basic plumbing and cabinetry
Ensure all maintenance and Company compliance guidelines are followed.
Ensure daily reports are accurately completed, submitted and/or inputted as required
Coordinates all contractor activities, including:
Auditing their work and safety compliance
Auditing for quality and economy of service
Train employees on
Effectively performing preventative maintenance (PM’s)
Accurately documenting all preventative maintenance and vehicle condition reports (VCR’s) through frequent audits
Completing and submitting daily work orders as needed
Placing equipment out of service (Red Tag Process)
Ensure maintenance housekeeping meets plant standards
Maintain adequate supply of pre-approved chemicals ensuring neat and orderly storage including proper labeling
Maintains an accurate SDS system
Maintain accurate and adequate inventory of parts for processing of equipment, tools and other maintenance related items
Report safety concerns to management
Participate in safety and environmental audits
Other duties as assigned

Umbrella responsibilities of all employees:
Assist and support implementation of EHS initiatives and strategies to reduce risk including but not limited to the areas of: OSHA, ergonomics, injury / illness reduction, hazard communication, environmental, emergency preparedness, and general employee safety
Supports LIFE areas, Safety Leading Indicators and Global Program Elements
Ensures a clean and safe work environment
Adhering to Plant policies and guidelines
Working safely and looking out for the safety of those around them
Following Safe Reliable Methods (SRMs) or Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) or Recycling Safety Verification Procedures (RSVPs)
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment according to plant housekeeping standards
Attending and participating in Plant safety meetings.
Managing controllable costs through proper equipment, tool and consumable usage
Reporting any safety or maintenance concerns
