Reporting to a Project Manager, this position is responsible for leading and managing a field installation crew on assigned project or projects. This colleague will help deliver assigned projects effectively and within budgeted cost and time schedules with guidance as needed.

Responsibilities
- Project planning, programming, system start-up/check-out, certification, and related customer training on assigned Fire, Security, and/or other electronic security projects
- Supervises team of Installation colleagues and oversees their work and installations. Supervisory duties include but are not limited to: mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues. May provide feedback and assistance with planning, assigning and directing work, performance management, and project budget.
- Oversees all aspects of the installation project including installation, testing, and repairs
- Acts as the primary contact with customers and internal colleagues in providing technical installation support and training. Provides training for less experienced Security Electronic Installers. Handles the more complex issues that may have been escalated from less-experienced colleagues.
- Provides guidance and training on a wide variety of manuals and familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted. May require assistance with more complex specifications with the assistance of more experienced colleagues.
- May provide installation assistance as needed and directed.
- Accountable for maximizing customer satisfaction. Acts as \"our customer\'s best service provider\" at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer\'s first choice for service. Takes ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance. Observes and practices Convergint Quality Standards.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement including suggestions for installation methods to improve profitability and quality.
- Works closely with the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager and assists in the overall coordination of installations; makes recommendations regarding quality of work and potential changes in scope, and identifies ways to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance and identify malfunctions. Writes routine programs for systems.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

Skills
- Proficient construction skills and understanding of system plans
- Excellent understanding of blueprints, design drawings including wiring and labeling methods, system wiring, wiring methods, and cable support installation (J-Hook, Raceway, Conduit, Cable Support)
- Very familiar with basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures unassisted.
- Basic technical programming skills
- Excellent customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.)
- Strong verb l, written and interpersonal communication skills
Certifications and Licenses:
- Product-specific certifications are a bonus with industry-specific certifications desired

- The position may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use such as safety glasses, hard hat, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes or work boots, high visible vests, as required on job site.

The colleague must frequently lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, push or pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The position is a field position. The colleague regularly performs local work-related travel. Out of town travel as needed for overnight stays to deliver projects for customer across the state of Iowa.

Education
Associates of Construction Management Services (preferred) High School (required)
Experience
5 - 7 years: related industry experience is a plus - construction background is a bonus (required)
