Join us at WesleyLife Meals on Wheels as our Hydroponic Head Grower and lead the charge in transforming leafy greens and culinary herbs into fresh, sustainable, and nutritious meals for our community. At our Meals on Wheels Hydroponic Farm, you'll grow more than plants—you'll cultivate connections and impact lives.
What You'll Do
As the Hydroponic Head Grower, you’ll oversee the entire lifecycle of crop production, from seeding to harvest and beyond. Your role will include:
Leading Farm Operations: Manage production schedules, monitor plant health, and ensure timely harvests and deliveries.
Driving Business Success: Handle order fulfillment, vendor relationships, and farm product traceability.
Building a Team: Supervise and inspire Farm Assistants and volunteers to contribute meaningfully to the farm’s mission.
Ensuring Quality and Safety: Uphold food safety certifications, monitor environmental controls, and perform system maintenance to keep operations smooth.
Optimizing Processes: Develop and refine policies to improve efficiency, prevent crop loss, and meet production goals.
What You Bring to the Table
3-5 years of hands-on hydroponic growing experience, including familiarity with indoor farming methods.
Expertise in plant health, pest, and disease management.
A degree in agriculture, horticulture, or a related field.
Basic knowledge of HVAC and environmental control systems.
Food safety experience and the ability to obtain Iowa Food Handlers certification within three months.
Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage schedules, teams, and farm operations.
A valid Iowa driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 annually, with final compensation based on your relevant experience and qualifications.
