Description:

Performs journeyman level work in the alteration and repair of electrical wiring and equipment in the hospital.

· In conformance with the city electrical code, repairs and reforms preventative maintenance on a wide variety of electrical systems, patient bedside equipment, carts, light fixtures, appliance and equipment.

· Makes repairs by removing, replacing or insulating defective wiring and controls. Locates broken or worn parts through inspection, observation, and the use of a variety of test instrument.

· Tests installed equipment and wiring upon completion.

· Follows blue prints and equipment literature for repairing of conduit or wiring.

· Troubleshoots fire alarm systems, heating equipment, elevators, and communications systems. Medical equipment and other electrical system.

· Minor plumbing repairs.

· Computer/ data entry knowledge

· Assist contractors in obtaining information needed for construction projects.

· Assist other maintenance areas when requested

· Ability to performed required duties at any Mercy Medical Center facility.

· Other duties as assigned by management.
