  • Support supply chain relationship, supplier relationship and resource management functions.

  • Issue and evaluate strategic Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP).

  • Support a program to evaluate new and existing suppliers as well as their products and services to create synergy across business organizations.

  • Develop strategic category management plans to implement value creation both through negotiating cost savings (via improved supplier selection and management, as well as process efficiencies) and increasing top-line growth.

  • Work on cross-functional teams to effectively engage key stakeholders to best advance supply chain initiatives that support the company’s strategic objectives. Facilitates QBRs and annual business review meetings with business units and key suppliers.

  • Support the development and implementation of strategic plans for ongoing sourcing needs.

We have a great opportunity for a Category Management Specialist to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office! In this role you will support the supply chain relationship, resource and portfolio management team. Integrating internal client initiatives, strategy, and business direction with supply management with a focus on cultivating strategic partnerships with the clients and vendors in order to create value for the company by advancing business objectives. Working with client subject matter specialists and managers to assess business requirements and develops strategic plans for ongoing sourcing needs. Continue working seamlessly with supply chain contract management and business performance teams in order to execute projects successfully.

  • This position offers a blend of working from home, and in the Cedar Rapids, IA or Madison, WI office.

Education Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.

    Preferred Education

  • Bachelor's Degree emphasis in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, Purchasing, or Supply Chain.

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), (CTE), or Certified in Production and Inventory.

  • Management (CPIM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation.

    Required Experience

  • 5 years of related experience in category management, purchasing or supply chain.

    Preferred Additional Experience:

  • Experience in Telcom negotiations and contracting

  • Experience in IT Hardware purchasing, both on-premise and virtual in the Cloud

  • Experience in IT Software purchasing, either on-premise or as a SaaS (Cloud)

  • Ability to guide collaborative projects with suppliers to deliver value, efficiencies and/or improvements in safety and quality.

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience handling multiple high-profile projects simultaneously and ability to take ownership of assigned projects.

  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency utilizing evolving technological tools to streamline daily tasks and communications.

  • Ability to work in a diverse work environment.
