* *Purpose Statement:

To support the goals and vision of Gemini Incorporated by directing and managing product line operations with responsibilities for safety, quality, delivery, cost, member development, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Job Function:

Under general supervision the individual will create, repair, and rig wood and plastic patterns. They will mix and fill molding frames and core boxes with epoxies and urethane. Individual will edit artwork and operate all equipment in the pattern shop.

* *Essential Functions:

  • Reviews work orders to ensure familiarization with job requirements, discussing details with the Plant Supervisor
  • Reviews artwork for manufacturability. Cleans and edits files as necessary with graphic arts software.
  • Sets up and operates a CNC router to produce desired components to complete the orders.
  • Sets up and operates Haas mills to produce dimensional patterns
  • Creates prints and polymers to prepare for patterns.
  • Utilizes 3D printers to create molds.
  • May construct or repair wood patterns using templates, power and hand tools.
  • Mixes epoxy and urethane and fills cavities with the appropriate materials for the casting of letters.
  • May fabricate jigs and fixtures for pattern and shop production.
  • Paints patterns and boxes with paints, sealers, and releases using spray gun or brush.
  • May build core boxes and cast cavities from fabricated patterns
  • Repairs damaged patterns in a timely manner to assure a minimum of disruption in the molding department.
  • Transports finished patterns and tools to appropriate storage areas.
  • Documents working procedures used in the production of patterns.
  • Periodically review required shop materials to ensure that an adequate supply of such materials are available for production requirements.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area at all times, cleaning dust collecting system daily or as required.
  • Completes records of department production including waste materials and units produced.
  • Constantly works toward producing products that are acceptable by company standards of quality
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner following all safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with employees.
  • May perform reasonably similar or related duties as directed

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or demonstrated equivalency through work experience
  • High level of computer proficiency
  • 1-year experience in production environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Adobe Illustrator/Corel Draw
  • Experience with Artcam/Composer
  • Experience with Table Saw and Band Saw
  • Experience with CNC and Milli g Operation
  • Experience with 3D printing
