Operation and Maintenance Director



The Operation and Maintenance Director at Danville Community School District is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficient operation of all district facilities. This role includes managing custodial staff, coordinating maintenance and repair work, and ensuring that the physical environment supports the educational mission of the district. The Director will also ensure compliance with relevant regulations and work to improve the overall infrastructure of the school district.



  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices.
  • Experience working with HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry, landscaping, and maintenance
  • Proficiency in using facilities management software and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing maintenance issues
  • Ability to perform multiple repair and maintenance tasks, construction, and building projects
  • Valid drivers license and ability to obtain a commercial drivers license (CDL) if required


Repair, Maintenance, and Construction:

Repair appliances and other facility installed systems, such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing

Maintain and operate all HVAC systems and associated equipment, and monitor the building automation systems.

Perform general maintenance and repair tasks as assigned and needed.
