PURPOSE OF POSITION
Perform different jobs, including but not limited to utilizing the saw, installing lag on pulleys, producing defined quantity of parts and components according to specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
More specifically, the employee owner will:
Apply different types of cold bond lagging.
Identify and appropriately apply various rubber compounds.
Wrap pulleys and then safely and properly load, close, and operate the autoclave. Load and unload parts and components onto carts.
Keep record of pulleys, lagging weight, and transfer locations.
Lay out grooves for patterns including but not limited to herringbone, diamond, and chevron; cut grooves at proper depth and angle.
Saw craft lag and retainers for installation on drum pulleys.
Saw fast lag and FLF for installation on wing pulleys.
Install craft lag and retainers on pulleys using required welding standards for installation.
Keep supervisor informed of any known materials that should be ordered.
Ensure all parts and components are accurate according to specifications.
Perform general housekeeping and maintenance on equipment.
Perform extra assignments in other areas and related task assignments in the work area.
Regular, consistent attendance.

Strong commitment to quality and working safely.
Knowledge and understanding of various paperwork including but not limited to prints, tech standards, and schedules.
Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.).
Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written.
Must be able to work independently and as a team to complete work in a timely manner.
Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
High school diploma or a general education degree (GED); or
One to three months related experience and/or training; or
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES
Forklift license.
Continually participate in additional training related to the job.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
The noise level in the work environment is usually very LOUD.
Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, extreme heat (non-weather) and vibration.
Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, protective gloves, grinding shield, and hearing protection are required where posted.
