Position SummaryAs the Procurement Category Leader, Indirect you will drive competitive advantage by defining and deploying strategies for cost reduction, service quality and delivery across the corporation’s >$300M in spend across Business Services, Legal and Marketing spend categories. The position will be responsible for leadership and spend performance across platforms, regions, and operating companies. You will provide indirect management supervision of operating companies’ category leaders that will result in cost reduction, cost avoidance, risk management and service/quality improvement to the corporation. Activities include gathering and analyzing spend and price data, identifying opportunities for consolidated negotiations based on operating company data, evaluating, and selecting preferred suppliers, negotiating, and implementing price agreements, managing, and improving supplier performance, leading workshops and Kaizens, training acquisition associates on EAS sourcing tools & processes; and, analyzing, reporting, and monitoring project savings against policy deployment goals. You will also be responsible for supporting integration projects associated with new acquisitions.This position will be located at Veralto’s corporate headquarters in Waltham, MA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Use Danaher Business System tools and processes to drive continuous improvements in service quality, delivery, cost, and cash while developing supplier relationships and contracts leveraging Veralto volume and growth.
Lead integration of new acquisitions, incorporating global and regional commodity strategies with company procurement leaders. Train acquisition associates on sourcing tools, best practices, and standard processes
Lead funnel creation events, deliver cross-business savings and drive/monitor business-specific savings projects. Prepare and execute corporate-wide bid packages utilizing RFIs, RFPs, and reverse auctions.
Lead the selection of preferred suppliers in targeted spend categories and manage their performance to ensure they consistently meet operating companies’ requirements. Increase the spend with P&Q and drive global contract agreements.
Drive strategic and tactical solutions by providing decision support data/materials (market data, financial analysis) with a vision of total cost management. In addition to establishing supplier performance data requirements and report monthly performance data to users in operating companies and evaluate marketplace trends and provide price and budget guidance to operating companies for targeted spend categories Additional language skills are beneficial.
Your ExperienceUndergraduate degree in relevant area such as supply chain, business management, operations or finance with 5-10+ years of leadership experience delivering year-over-year improvements in respective spend categories.
Ability to work independently and comfortably in ambiguous situations, knowing how to resolve conflicts and having a proven track record of achieving results.
Strong proficiency in use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI and other analytical tools.
Problem resolution skills and root cause analysis experience.
Strength as a communicator and team player, you need to be well versed in the details but capable of communicating to all levels of the organization the goal setting, metrics, and results to establish a strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and enthusiasm among the teams.
