Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

Provides maintenance support required to sustain continuous operation of packaging and processing equipment, perform preventative maintenance for the plant, and assist with breakdowns and other mechanical issues throughout the plant.

Responsibilities

• Assist in major overhauls of plant equipment and perform minor repairs to all plant equipment.

• Work on 3 phase motors.

• Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of the facilities.

• Work on conveyors and belting for the different lines.

• Operate forklifts and fork trucks when needed.

• Change drive belts, timing belts, and other parts on all machinery.

• Change filters and oils in plant equipment.

• Change packing/mechanical seals and gaskets in all pumps.

• Maintain water chemistry in necessary systems.

• Identify and replace bearings and seals as required.

• Troubleshoot both AC and DC circuits.

• Perform welding (TIG, MIG, and arc weld) on carbon and stainless steel.

• Repair and replace vari-drives, speed reducers, vacuum pumps, and product pumps.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of industrial maintenance/electrical experience.

• 2 years of VFD or PLC experience.

• Troubleshooting equipment.

• Experience with schematics and reading electrical diagrams.

• Experience with 208V AC 3 phase electric motors and circuits.

• Experience with DC motors and circuits.

• Understanding of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).

• Familiarity with hardware components of a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and able to troubleshoot them.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Maintenance technical degree preferred.

• Preventative maintenance experience.

• Ammonia experience is a plus.

• Robotics experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Shifts available: A shift (overnight) Sun 7pm-7:30am; Mon-Thurs 11pm-7:30am, B Shift (days) Friday - Tuesday 7am-3:30pm, C Shift (afternoon) Monday – Friday 3pm – 11:30pm. May be required to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays as needed. A shift includes an hourly rate + $1.35/hour, C Shift includes an hourly rate + $1.00/hour. This is a true plant/assembly line environment, also a food grade facility with production not in a chilled environment (60+ degrees). Dress code includes steel-toed boots, safety glasses, and hairnet. Must be able to move 75 pounds a distance of 25 feet or more and stand for an 8-hour shift (sometimes longer) with occasional breaks.
