Cogeneration Power Plant Superintendent – Clinton, IA

This is a full-time, exempt position.

Position Summary:

Lead day-to-day operation of a state-of-the-art coal/biomass fired cogeneration facility responsible for providing 100% of the steam and electrical needs of multiple processing facilities to provide value to customers and a return to shareholders.

• Require safety and compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations.

• Utilize assets efficiently and maintain high performance level to meet safety, reliability, and production goals.

• Manage department in keeping with established policies, procedures and plant priorities.

• Lead department in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive climate to achieve organizational goals.

• Effective key communications between processing units to work as one cohesive unit.

• Provide guidance to operating leaders and technical support personnel to achieve short term and long-term department performance.

• Involved in driving ways to reduce greenhouse gas reduction in the future.

• Manage costs and continuously focus on efficiency improvement.

• Assure training and development of all department operations and maintenance employees.

Job Requirements:

• Able to communicate with all levels of the organization

• BS in Engineering or equivalent

• 5+ years of experience in major engineering role or leadership role in major process related position

• Strong understanding of process control systems and other computer systems

• Excellent leadership ability including a vision for future direction and ability to lead others in work execution.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent planning and organizational skills

• Proven track record as a team player

• High energy level and clear customer focus emphasis

• Ability to develop and maintain relationships to enable the achievement of results over time

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk long distances and perform work in an industrial setting
