130 miles east of Des Moines, and 230 miles west of Chicago, Cedar Rapids is a city in eastern Iowa. The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art includes many works by native Iowan painter Grant Wood. The Assembly Supervisor position is responsible for providing leadership to deliver Gable Top Filling Equipment to our test line on time and to meet the customer’s requirements with a commitment to doing it right the first time.

Deliverables also include controlling manufacturing costs and to ensure company safety policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to by employees.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Direct EHS activities to assure facility goals and objectives are achieved.

  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of assembly operations with an objective of cost reduction, quality, and total customer satisfaction.

  • Effectively manage employee relations and ensure that all rules and policies are being followed.

  • Hire, evaluate and train new assembly hires and employees who bid into the department.

  • Support Design Engineering to complete prototype equipment on or ahead of schedule and within assembly cost targets.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical Related Field or 3-5 Years of Manufacturing Experience.

  • Must be familiar with appropriate measurements relating to safety, production, quality, resource requirements, and financial reports to accurately assess the operations and track improvements.

  • Must demonstrate a commitment to positive relationships with employees.

  • Analytical problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, good business judgment, and flexibility to deal with change are a must.

  • Should be self-confident, assertive, principled, disciplined, and direct when necessary and diplomatic when required, with a sense of humor and empathy for plant personnel in special circumstances.

  • Should be results oriented and promote a winning attitude toward customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and people development.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.


  • Technical knowledge in the capital goods manufacturing business.

  • SAP and Agile PDM experience.

  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
