Raytheon Technologies Sr. Supervisor, Manufacturing (Onsite) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

This position will manage the manufacturing execution of cell(s) of low-medium complexity. This includes, but is not limited to, the following core KPI's: Safety in the workplace, Quality performance, MPS & OTD adherence, Cost performance, Employee engagement. Will have the responsibility of direct supervision of direct labor and salary support team Identifying and driving continuous improvements in support of KPI attainment Build & Test processes; may include CRG’s, final inspection and/or advanced inspection Supporting C-Ave Avionics and Site level initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Holds accountability for meeting given production goals in a timely and accurate manner for a set of product lines.

  • Implements production plans, including accountability for product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules and staffing requirements to meet given operational objectives and business unit goals.

  • Directs the implementation of activities in production areas to ensure timely, high quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements.

  • Provides focus to the production team to execute to quality, schedule and cost expectations for the product lines or family of products.

  • Implements annual operating plan, operating budget and capital budgets.

  • Serves as a champion for quality and continuous improvement. Accountable for reduction of cost and waste within product lines. Improves productivity by implementing best practices.

  • Responsible for schedules and expenditures for direct and indirect labor. Accomplishes results through subordinate managers and employees by establishing operational objectives, work plans and delegating assignments.

  • Identifies and develops leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the management team members.

  • Hosts and interacts with internal and external customers during site visits and product line meetings.

  • Oversees deployment of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures for the product line. Ensures workplace training and safety plans are fully implemented. Ensures the area complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and health requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Have a track record of success in manufacturing or supply chain; formal leadership preferred

  • Demonstrate clear ability and desire to work collaboratively with personnel and lead cross functional teams toward resolution. Primary collaborators beyond the direct team include: operations engineering, design engineering, component engineering, program management, operations leadership, supply chain & scheduling professionals. This role requires proficiency working across these roles up to the P/M7 level and an ability to communicate to SBU-level executives.

  • Demonstrate a track record of effective conflict management and resolution, including personnel issues

  • Demonstrate a track record of effective employee development

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualification:

  • Prior experience in manufacturing as a supervisor, coordinator, IE, or planner/expediter

  • Prior experience in supply chain as a buyer/expediter or purchasing manager

  • Prior experience in navigating technical documents (e.g. engineering drawings, quality policies, work instructions)

  • Intermediate proficiency in SAP, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Successful implementation of variation-reduction initiatives, leveraging statistical approaches

  • Track record of leading continuous improvement initiatives & leading through change
