Field Service Tech

$22-39/hr | Cedar Rapids/Iowa City/Davenport, IA

Petroleum Equipment Service company that is currently looking to bring on multiple service techs in the goal of expansion. They are open to training individuals that have a good base level skillset and offer to pay for different industry-related certifications

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and service of electrical, electronic, hydraulic and/or mechanical petroleum equipment and products (i.e. Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, Passport, EVO) as applicable.

• Troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on gasoline dispensers and related equipment

• Install, troubleshoot and maintain Point of Sale (POS) equipment

• Monitor and is accountable for accuracy of parts inventory

• Analyze electronic and mechanical problems and provide repairs as required

• Install, program and test new equipment

• Communicate with customers and explain technical issues in common terms.

• Present self professionally and be prompt when making service calls

Wage and Other Benefits:

• Their pay is $22 for entry level – up to $39/hour for someone with all their certifications. Most people fall into $22-$30 range.

Work Environment:

• Indoor and outdoor at gas stations

• They have flexibility on what type of service truck someone wants

Hours:

• Monday-Friday 10 hour days

• Only on call once every 8 weeks

Dress code:

• Uniforms provided

Report to:

• Service Manager at each site

Team size:

• 2-3 per location

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Preferred:

• 1+ years experience as a petroleum service technician

• Certified in Gilbarco or Wayne dispenser service

Minimum:

• Valid driver’s license and good driving record

• Willing to submit to background check and drug screen

• 1 year industrial maintenance OR 1 year electronic experience (installation such as Spectrum, etc) OR 1 year industrial electrical or electrician experience OR 1 year military maintenance experience
