Raytheon Technologies Principal Specialist, Proposals - CommAv (REMOTE) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
The Proposal Manager operates as a core member of proposal pursuit teams, providing the successful candidate the opportunity to help build the fast-growing aerospace market by administering and coordinating activities involved in the development and revision of Aftermarket proposals. This position provides visibility and exposure to all other functions of the business unit like value stream leadership, marketing, engineering, finance, contracts and leadership.
Job responsibilities:
Works closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Contracts, Finance and Value Stream Leaders to ensure concurrence on pursuit strategy and to assemble compliant proposals for established products
Leads proposal development by proactively gathering customer information from IPT members and coordinating internal efforts to assure a timely response to requests
Develops customer-focused proposals that make a compelling case for the Collins value proposition
Analyzing customer solicitations and requirements and identifying appropriate approvers
Organizing, managing and coaching proposal collaborators
Assists the Pursuit Lead in proposal reviews providing information on proposal details
Reviewing written content for clarity, grammar and compliance to requirements
Maintaining proposal tracking tool and weekly status updates
Following and tailoring established processes and procedures to ensure teams develop quality proposal deliverable and accurate pricing model
Identifying action items and holding teams accountable to deadlines
Interacts with account managers prior to and/or after sale developing and maintaining positive partner relationships and cultivates an extensive network of internal contacts
Coordinates training of sales for onboarding and change management
Expertise / Skills:
Proposal Managers are skillful communicators across functional areas, are decisive problem-solvers across an array of pursuit issues and exhibit the temperament to successfully resolve conflict and operate in situations where variables are prone to change.
These communication and decision-making skills will be used to understand issues facing sales, our leadership, and our customers and distill them into innovative solutions to support effective proposal development.
The Proposal Manager is a critical thinker, who poses insightful questions to guide the team to better refine proposal content. They have high-quality standards and a critical eye for the written word.
Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate - high scope and complexity, referring to defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
Contributes and implements innovative continuous improvement ideas, working to enhance and improve processes and procedures that enable optimized productivity and customer-focused offerings
Performs work with minimal direction, receiving general instruction on new projects or assignments
Work may be reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall adequacy
Required Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
