Arby's Shift Manager in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Title: Shift Manager

REPORTS TO: General Manager

PURPOSE: To assist in managing shifts while following the company philosophy and expectations for a successful and profitable shift. Complete all actions outlined in the MTP chart for position


  • Assist in running a shift. Will supervise short or low volume periods of the day. Will complete all shift control and admin duties. Can efficiently QB a 4 person shift.

  • Execute the Twelve Systems daily to insure a clean, organized restaurant, prepared to deliver quality food, fast and friendly.

  • Insure Team Members receive the appropriate shift supervision and direction.

  • Work positions at a minimum of line leader level to provide service to our guests.

  • Operate in accordance with established performance, profits and operating standards as set out in the OSM and is at proper knowledge level on the MTP training tests.

  • Lead training of Team Members on Closing, safety first, and maintenance.

  • Lead Cleaning in the areas of exterior, kitchen, and walkins.

  • Take the lead on Safety first activities and sales cooking and labor tracking.

  • Have a good working knowledge of all equipment with the ability to diagnose basic issues, and assume responsibility for daily toaster and shake machine upkeep and safe operations.

  • Maintain high standards of service throughout the operational day by demonstrating management by example.

  • Utilize all management tools as directed such as but not limited to, beef sheets, nightly inventory, refund logs, ops lists, deployment guide, manager’s opening and maintenance lists, and the daily cash sheet.

  • Communicate openly and honestly with subordinates, superiors and all others about plans, progress and problems through verbal and email communications.

  • Monitors quality through hold times, prep quality, and proper beef slice.

  • Provide leadership by engendering excitement, enthusiasm, a positive mental attitude and commitment toward Company objectives. Create an atmosphere of “Esprit de Corp.”

  • Responsible for increasing sales and making a profit.

  • Maintain an attitude of flexibility that allows performance above and beyond the parameters of this position description.

  • Uphold the company standards of personal appearance, attitude, and management etiquette.

  • Works the proper management schedule as outlined in the career track and by store needs and abides by all company break and time keeping rules.

  • Demonstrate and lead all team members in company guidelines, programs, and structure.

  • Follows thru on tasks as assigned
