Job Description:

Job Title: Salad Mixer

FLSA: Non-Exempt

General Function:

The Salad Mixer’s responsibilities include: Operating a mixing machine while following our Food Safety Plans, HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen Sequence, and Production Lists.

Reporting Relations:

Accountable and reports to: Director of Salad Operations, Production Manager, and Mixing Area Supervisor

Positions that Report to you: None

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and ensuring food safety.

  • Report any food safety deviations to your supervisor immediately.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time. Adheres to company policies and departmental guidelines.

  • Accepts responsibility for running Mixing equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Ability to understand weights/measures and identify correct ingredients and follow recipes.

  • Follows production list and recipes provided by supervisor and operates machine in a safe and sanitary manner.

  • Must be able to read and understand product dating requirements.

  • Communicates with team to ensure quality product is produced.

  • Performs other job-related duties and assists in other areas of plant as needed.

  • Need to be able to work as member of the mixing team and be flexible in jobs performed throughout the day.

  • Informs maintenance of needed repairs.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics

  • Ability to read and interpret written instructions.

  • Must be knowledgeable of safety program, procedures, sanitary practices and standards.

  • This is considered an unskilled position. Frequent to constant handling, grasping, constant listening, talking, hearing, seeing, reading, dealing with people, influencing others, evaluating information, supervising a line.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

High school education or equivalent.

Prefer food manufacturing experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to physically perform light work exerting up to 50-pounds of force occasionally.

  • Visual requirements include vision from less than 20-inches to more than 20-feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.

Working Conditions:

  • Duties performed in production area.

  • Will be required to work in production or seek supplies in warehouse as needed.

  • Ability to adapt to changes throughout daily operation.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

Mixer, Dumper, Pallet jack and Barrel Lifter
