Job Title: Maintenance Electrician
Job Description
This position is an industrial maintenance technician role with a specialty in electrical systems. The individual will be responsible for repairing a variety of electrical components and systems found in an industrial setting.
Responsibilities
Repair, install, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, components, units, and circuitry of plant equipment, machinery, and structures.
Qualify as a maintenance mechanic and score within an acceptable level of proficiency on an electrical specialty assessment.
Build and wire assemblies from schematics.
Demonstrate hands-on ability and knowledge in digital electronics, control circuits, power supplies, power distribution, use of test instruments, computers, and PLCs.
Operate and repair equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize risk to personnel and damage to equipment and inventory.
Provide technical assistance to the production department in the setup and changeover of production equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment and document tasks performed in preventive maintenance records.
Identify ways to improve production methods by observing work processes and collaborating with line personnel.
Collaborate with outside vendors to enhance in-house maintenance capabilities.
Assist the Engineering Department in the implementation and modification of maintenance programs.
Essential Skills
Knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and its application in industrial settings.
Ability to use electrical specialty tools such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Hands-on experience with digital electronics, control circuits, power supplies, power distribution, and PLCs.
Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with work processes.
Pass required maintenance testing and demonstrate knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, power transmissions, lubrication, pumps, pipe rigging, mechanical maintenance, operation of shop machines, use of work-related tools, combustion, motors, schematics and print reading, and basic AC and DC theory.
