Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Description

This position is an industrial maintenance technician role with a specialty in electrical systems. The individual will be responsible for repairing a variety of electrical components and systems found in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Repair, install, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, components, units, and circuitry of plant equipment, machinery, and structures.

• Qualify as a maintenance mechanic and score within an acceptable level of proficiency on an electrical specialty assessment.

• Build and wire assemblies from schematics.

• Demonstrate hands-on ability and knowledge in digital electronics, control circuits, power supplies, power distribution, use of test instruments, computers, and PLCs.

• Operate and repair equipment in a safe and efficient manner to minimize risk to personnel and damage to equipment and inventory.

• Provide technical assistance to the production department in the setup and changeover of production equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment and document tasks performed in preventive maintenance records.

• Identify ways to improve production methods by observing work processes and collaborating with line personnel.

• Collaborate with outside vendors to enhance in-house maintenance capabilities.

• Assist the Engineering Department in the implementation and modification of maintenance programs.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of electrical/electronic theory and its application in industrial settings.

• Ability to use electrical specialty tools such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.

• Hands-on experience with digital electronics, control circuits, power supplies, power distribution, and PLCs.

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with work processes.

• Pass required maintenance testing and demonstrate knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, power transmissions, lubrication, pumps, pipe rigging, mechanical maintenance, operation of shop machines, use of work-related tools, combustion, motors, schematics and print reading, and basic AC and DC theory.
