Bolton & Menk has a great opportunity for a Survey Technicianto join our team in our Ames office. What You Will Do:
Assist in the production of survey drawings
Perform basic survey computations
Use CAD and other survey/engineering software for basic survey drawing preparation
Assist with survey field operations as needed with:
Construction staking, which will include shoveling, lifting and carrying 25-50 lbs
Operate survey instruments (robotic total stations, GPS equipment and data collectors) to collect and process field measurements and data for engineering and surveying projects
What We are Looking For:
High School Diploma or Associates Degree in Land Surveying Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field from an accredited post-secondary institutionORan equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge and skills in CAD and survey software (i.e. AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil3D, Microstation)
Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively apply survey and engineering concepts
Good time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Advanced math skills
Strong attention to detail
This role requires that you posses a valid driver’s license and be insurable at the Firm’s standard rates. A motor vehicle record (MVR) check is a standard condition of employment.
