The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm with the potential for overtime.**This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus**AProduction Machining Technicianencompasses the job functions required to fabricate raw material for use in assembly using conventional, special purpose and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe and mill equipment. We pride ourselves on growing our human potential and encourage career growth within our facilities.Job ResponsibilitiesThe position will be measured as follows:Attendance and Interactions: Follows attendance guidelines, rarely absent or late, pre-schedules and pre-approves absences.The position will interact with co-workers in the same machining cell.The position will interact with a "Team Coordinator" which is the subject matter expert on the machining cell.The position will take instruction for the Team Leader.Safety: Follows safety and housekeeping standards and procedures, uses appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), looks after the safety of others.Quality: Follows standard work procedures, self acknowledges and corrects mistakes, works to avoid errors and get it right the first time.Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.Understands proper use and care of all gages and inspection equipment used in the cell used to verify conformance of work piece to specifications.Productivity: Ability to meet or exceed productivity goals, manages time wisely, stays on task requiring little supervision to get the job done.Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.Background and SkillsEducation:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-year certificate in Machining or Advanced Manufacturing from college or technical school or Associate Tool and Die Degree preferred.Required Skills or traits for the position:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to interpret prints, read gauges and units from standard to metric. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
