About the role:

The Operations Manager is responsible for multiple production areas and distribution. Your role will drive the continuous improvement of processes and systems in support of strategic and policy deployment objectives known as Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Including safety initiatives, production capacity planning, productivity improvements, capital project support, risk analysis, and new product/process definition with Research and Development (R&D). This position will have multiple area managers reporting to them.

This position is part of the Hach Leadership team located in Ames, IA and will be onsite each day.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Accountable for managing daily progress in assigned areas

  • Responsible for managing and mentoring of supervisors, professional staff, and/or production associates

  • Accountable for process improvements to achieve KPI goals for safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity and engagement

  • Participate in, facilitate, and/or train kaizen or improvement project teams. We use lean manufacturing tools in everything we do

  • Collaborate effectively with other managers to achieve overall goals using shared resources

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical (physical science or engineering) or business related field or relevant experience in lieu of degree

  • 5-10 years of experience in direct supervisory role including success collaborating cross-functionally across levels

  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing your teams

  • Proven experience and knowledge of various manufacturing/ distribution processes required

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or six-sigma a plus

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $120,300 - $155,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.
