Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:· Experience purchasing goods and services for an entity.
· Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Department of Energy Acquisition Regulations (DEAR).
· Experience in Excel creating and maintaining spreadsheets including the use of formulas.
· Experience creating reports, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
· Experience using office software which includes word processing and presentation software.
· Demonstrated knowledge of Iowa State policies, Ames National Laboratory policies.

Ames National Laboratory (also referred to as the “Laboratory”) seeks qualified applicants for a Head Procurement Agent.
This position is responsible for acquiring goods and services for the entire Laboratory, typically ranging from medium to complex procurement contracts, including purchase orders and subcontracts from cradle-to-grave, auditing, and customer service. The incumbent will review procurement requests, authorize requests, and also research the best source for providing the service or material. The Head Procurement Agent will interact with all levels of personnel at the Laboratory, Iowa State University, and DOE Ames Site Office. This position also may serve as back-up for construction and architect-engineer services procurements.
The successful candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills,
as well as, the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The candidate must
possess organizational skills; attention to detail; the ability to prioritize work and analyze
data. This position requires professional judgment in the application of policies and procedures in the assigned work areas. In addition, analytical ability is required to gather and interpret data.
