General Purpose:
The Plant Manager is responsible for managing the safety, quality, productivity, and financial objectives of the plant. Work closely with plant management and plant employees and serve as a liaison with the DFA enterprise-wide functional departments such as Food Safety, Quality, Regulatory (FSQR), Human Resources, Finance, Engineering, Purchasing, Research and Development, and Risk Management. This position is a leadership role and is expected to inspire employees to greater levels of professionalism, quality, productivity, and engagement in the DFA team.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the health, safety, and well-being of team members. Promote employee participation in actively managing EHS through identification and mitigation of hazards. Ensure timely reporting and investigation of EHS events
Ensure manufacturing team is staffed appropriately to meet business requirements
Mentor, train, and coach facility leadership team members to understand the organization and their roles within the organization, ensuring that each team member is developing for their next role
Demonstrate leadership through participation in core leadership processes such as development of division and manufacturing facility operating, capital and expense budgets, leader standard work, employee onboarding, succession planning and horizon planning
Deeply root an atmosphere of collaboration across Ingredient Solutions manufacturing and shared service business partners that is characterized by inclusion, precision, learning and purpose
Lead the establishment of Key Performance Indicators to measure performance of the division and manufacturing facilities
Facilitate communication between our customers and our plants to assure we are properly implementing customer requests, response to complaints and providing excellent customer service
Champion a culture of cross-functional ownership for food safety, quality and regulatory compliance across all levels of the plant to proactively identify and mitigate risks.
Cultivate an innovative, data driven, team-oriented culture that embraces continuous improvement within an environment of learning
Support leaders focused on optimizing the use of business integration systems to drive productivity through defining business integration requirements, managing organizational transformation and coordinating end-user utilization for DFA business systems
Support effective stakeholder collaboration to standardize common functions in areas of quality, safety, maintenance, sustainability, environmental, SAP, Safe Quality Foods (SQF), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), Auditing, and Abatement activities
Enable team members focused on increasing productivity through the application of a standardized Continuous Improvement program
Mentor, train, and coach team members and leaders in division aligned strategy deployment process, continuous improvement methodologies and problem-solving tools
Empower teams to improve equipment reliability using industry standard tools such as Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Preventive Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance
Partner with key stakeholder(s) to ensure an effective Capital and Expense Project Management process
Manage effective relationships within Ingredient Solutions. Report on performance and share Ingredients Solutions strategy and business plan objectives.
Effectively interact with key account customers as the need arises

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in related field
8-10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing management
Supervisory experience or demonstrated people leadership attributes
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

Able to be on-call
Infant formula experience a plus
High level hygiene manufacturing experience desired
Continuous Improvement knowledge with Six Sigma Black/Green Belt preferred
PMP certification or equivalent a plus
Lean Manufacturing formal certification desired
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
